Prepare for War Is Not a Hot Take
Seed — an idea to develop
•1 min read1 min
“Prepare for war” need not be a novel prophecy or a celebration of violence. In Christian practice it can name a continual posture of alertness: resisting evil, telling the truth, protecting the vulnerable, and refusing the false peace of denial. That is why concern about Pete Greig’s controversial Wildfires talk deserves careful discernment rather than instant reaction. The question is what kind of war is being prepared for, by what means, and toward what end. Christian readiness cannot become a licence for dehumanising enemies or baptising domination; it must remain accountable to the crucified and risen Christ.
